I was a very early reddit user and this just feels like Reddit twenty years ago

Communities are so easy to make on Reddit, I’ve looked into making one on Lemmy but I have no idea how to do it, it’s so much less accessible

The fact instances can be closed on users. I’m in EE I’m fairly new and now my instances will be closed, it’s pretty insane my content and account can be unilaterally destroyed by someone entirely out of my control

The smallness isn’t too bad if you hide read posts, hide posts you don’t care about and subscribe to a lot of different things but things showing up in my feed for days if I don’t hide them is obnoxious to me

It’s actually a core tenant of actual “maga” not just “trump supporters” maga is extremely isolationist, a lot of them have experienced the Iraq war or had a child who did, it’s been maybe one of the very few consistent stances from maga from the start, they are staunchly against foreign war, “America first” is an explicitly isolationist slogan

This being so important to maga was actually one of the things I thought about first when I read about the Iran strikes, he’s absolutely abandoning a big chunk of the true believers and the thing about cults is it often only takes one thing to “shatter the glass” so to speak for some members, it just has to be the right thing to trigger it… there might be some serious fall out for him here at home over this

Like a week? It was at girls camp and I was doing “PTA baths” pits, tits and ass but the water in the showers were ICE COLD, like it was literally the same temp as the glacier lake our camp was at that we were not allowed to swim in for more than ten minutes at a time so we wouldn’t die. Putting my head under that water to rinse my hair was physically painful. There was a huge camp wide hike that me and a few other girls managed to skip out on and we all took hot showers, there was like maybe a dozen of us, and it was glorious. Then like, hours later, everyone comes back and the next morning during announcements they were bitching “some girls stayed back and used all the hot water so the leaders (adults) didn’t have any” like bitch what? We NEVER have hot water, we have painfully cold water, and it had hours to reheat before they even got back, suck it up and stop hogging all the hot water for yourselves! I didn’t feel bad and still don’t twenty years later

I got my oxygen intake down to single digits! My family wasn’t supportive however and got me a new pair of lungs, haters

He’s right to feel uncomfortable because it’s inappropriate. My kids are 19 and 21 and while I am hopeful/happy for them to have intimate adult relationships they find fulfilling I don’t have any interest in those relationships happening under my roof with what is essentially a stranger. My son has been in a relationship with a nice young woman for about a year and a half and while I would have no issue with them sharing a room I wouldn’t want my 19 year old sharing her room with a freshly found boyfriend or vice versa, it is intimate and I care about the quality of my kids relationships and if they’re dating someone who doesn’t respect that I don’t want causal sex going on in my house I don’t know how quality this person they’re dating even is… for me, as the parent in this situation is that this feels way too much like casual sex which I feel isn’t in most people’s best interests. Hook up else where and figure it out six months down the road
